ESPN Ex Host Guilty of Murder of New England Woman
A love triangle of sorts that has captivated and horrified New England and beyond has resulted in a jury finding former ESPN host Michelle Troconis guilty of conspiring to murder Jennifer Dulos, the estranged wife of Troconis' boyfriend, prominent businessman Fotis Dulos.
A team of six jurors reportedly met for just over two hours of closing arguments at a Stamford Superior Courtroom on Friday before reaching a verdict.
Fotis Dulos was also charged in the disappearance of his estranged wife, but he died of apparent suicide before the trial started.
CNN offers details from Jennifer Dulos' disappearance, a story that was featured most recently on Friday night on NBC's "Dateline'':
"Jennifer Dulos was last seen in May 2019 after dropping her children off at school. ... She was in the middle of a contentious divorce and custody battle with Fotis Dulos at the time of her disappearance ...
"Despite her body never being found, Dulos was officially pronounced dead through a declaration of death by a Connecticut judge in October 2023 ... She likely suffered a combination of “traumatic, blunt-force injuries,” according to the state’s chief medical examiner. Authorities found a blood-like stain in three places on her vehicle, which was parked in her garage in New Canaan.''
The jury also found Troconis guilty of one count of hindering prosecution, two counts of conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence, and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.
Troconis - who worked for ESPN based in South America - was devastated by the verdict, said her attorney, Jon Schoenhorn.
Her family called the verdict “a tremendous injustice,” saying she is innocent and they “will keep proving that forever.”
