BREAKING: Patriots 2023 Schedule Revealed; Aaron Rodgers, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes - Even Tom Brady - Coming to Foxboro!

The New England Patriots host Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 and Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets in Week 18 as the 2023 NFL schedule is revealed.
In this story:

Aaron Rodgers is coming to Gillette Stadium in Week 18. Patrick Mahomes comes to Foxboro for Monday Night Football in Week 15.

And in Week 1, Tom Brady may just trump them both by coming home.

For the first time in four years the New England Patriots won't open their regular season against the Miami Dolphins. Instead, as the NFL's 2023 schedule was revealed Thursday, the Pats will kick-off at home Sunday, Sept. 10 against Jalen Hurts and the defending NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles, of course, won their classic matchup in Super Bowl LII.

After hosting and honoring Brady in Week 1, New England in Week 2 will get its annual early visit to Foxboro from the Dolphins, who they opened against in 2020-22.

Highlights of the Pats' schedule include a visit by four-time MVP Rodgers and his New York Jets on Jan. 7, 2024, a prime-time home game against Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 18, a game in Germany against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10 and meetings with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in Week 7 (home) and 17 (away).

The defending AFC East champion Bills have ended the Pats' season the last two years and beaten them four straight times by an average of 17 points.

The Patriots don't play on Thanksgiving, but they do have potentially cold, snowy holiday games on Christmas Eve (at Denver Broncos) and New Year's Eve (in Buffalo). They have four prime-time games, including the visit from Mahomes on MNF a week before Christmas, hosting the Dolphins on Sunday Night Football Sept. 17, traveling to play the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Thursday Night Football Dec. 7 and playing at the Broncos Dec. 24 at 8:15 p.m.

Said Patriots defensive lineman Davon Godchaux about Brady's return on opening weekend: "That’s going to be big. It’s probably sold out already. We definitely have to get a win.”

New England's strength-of-schedule is tied for the third toughest in the league - with an opponents' win percentage of .549 - behind only the Eagles and Dolphins. All four AFC East teams are among the NFL's seven hardest schedules.

The Pats will play three preseason games against the Houston Texans and at the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans, dates and times pending.

This season the Pats will travel the 10th-most miles among the league's 32 teams.
