Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady faced light-hearted criticism over a missing game jersey from six-time Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall. Until the story drastically changed.

During his appearance on the "Games With Names" podcast (hosted by former New England receiver Julian Edelman and comedian Sam Morril), the former receiver who starred with the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears recounted when he approached Brady after a game with the Patriots and requested his jersey. To Marshall's delight, the legend assured him he would send it to him.

Said Marshall, "Tom was basically like, 'Yeah, I can give it to you, but Bill and the guys, they don't like us exchanging jerseys after the game. I'm going to have to send it to you. I'll go inside and give it to our equipment manager, and we'll have it sent to you.' I was like, 'Man, I know, but I need the game-worn. Don't send me no b------- Tom'."

As time elapsed, Marshall grew increasingly frustrated as the jersey he eagerly anticipated had yet to arrive. Week after week, then stretching into even six months, there was no sign of the package in Marshall's mailbox. His disappointment grew, and a genuine resentment began taking root in him toward Brady.

"So now I have this grudge against Tom Brady that I'm carrying every single year, year after year after year. I got this legendary jersey collection. I've got some of the best guys. I've got kickers, bro," Marshall said.

But one day Marshall's grudge embarrassingly melted when he decided to search his garage. To his astonishment, he stumbled upon an unopened box tucked away, and within it discovered the very jersey he had spent years anticipating. The mix of emotions overwhelmed him as he realized the jersey had been with him all along, hidden away in his own home.

"I get to this one big box, and there's this little FedEx box that's sitting there. I open it up. It was the Tom Brady jersey, and he said, 'Hey B, you're a great player. Look forward to seeing you continue to thrive. Tom Brady.' I said, 'Oh, my goodness.' I fell in love with the guy. The overall consensus on Tom Brady is beloved," Marshall said.

Fortunately, Marshall's decision to explore his garage proved pivotal, preventing him from carrying that grudge to the present day.
