WATCH: Patriots' Mistake-Prone Offense Imploding, Trail Bills 20-14
Despite returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown and holding Josh Allen to a 1-of-7 start, the New England Patriots are enduring a disastrous first half against the Buffalo Bills.
After taking a 7-0 lead on Jalen Reagor's 98-yard kickoff return, the Pats were outscored 20-0 thanks to a mistake-prone offense. Quarterback Bailey Zappe has thrown three interceptions, including two on his first three passes.
Zappe's latest interception was return 40 yards for a touchdown by Buffalo's Rasul Douglas to make it 20-7 midway through the second quarter.
Zappe's interceptions - two by Douglas - have led to all the Bills points. Tight end Pharoah Brown also fumbled after a catch for New England's fourth turnover in the game's first 20 minutes.
All four turnovers occurred deep in Patriots' territory inside the 30-yard line. Douglas, who also created the first interception with a deflected pass, stepped in front of Reagor for the Pick 6.
