No Grinch! Patriots (Even Belichick) Get in Holiday Spirit, Blast Christmas Music

Despite being 3-11 and long ago eliminated from the NFL Playoffs, the New England Patriots were in a jolly ol' mood this week, with Christmas music as their practice soundtrack.

Despite their worst season in 30 years, the uncertain status of their head coach and the fact that even more injuries are piling up, the New England Patriots packed some holiday spirit with them on their trip to Denver this weekend.

Bill Belichick donned a wide smile in his Friday press conference in Foxboro and Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" blared over the speakers at Patriots' practice.

The 3-11 Pats will need a Christmas Eve miracle when they face the playoff-hopeful Denver Broncos Sunday night, as starters Hunter Henry and Conor McDermott will join the list of injured players missing the game.

But in a season that's produced little to smile about, the Patriots (3-11) enjoyed an upbeat final practice before the Christmas Eve game at potentially snowy Mile High Stadium.

Patriots - Christmas

Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore appeared especially engaged, vibrantly rocking back and forth in the midst of his stretches.

The Patriots are 5-3 when playing on Christmas Eve.

The Pats are merely eyeing next year's NFL Draft, while the 7-7 Broncos are in the race for a Wild Card in the AFC. Denver has won six of eight.

New England will enter as a 7-point underdog. Can it come down the chimney with a bag full of presents and fly home victorious?

Only time will tell - but Belichick and his team are certainly getting in the Christmas mood.
