'Fake News': Patriots' Matthew Judon Angrily Reacts to DeAndre Hopkins Signing
It seems that all of New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon's recruiting efforts were in vain.
According to reports, Pro Bowl receiver DeAndre Hopkins made the decision to join the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, agreeing to a two-year contract worth $26 million, with the potential to reach $32 million through incentives. Despite receiving offers from both the Patriots and the Titans in free agency, Hopkins ultimately chose to sign with Tennessee over New England.
During his visits last month, Hopkins made stops at both Tennessee and New England, even posing for a photo with Judon in the Patriots' locker room while in Foxboro. As one would anticipate, Judon found it challenging to accept the news that Hopkins would be joining the Titans instead.
The reports certainly do not appear to be "fake news" since Hopkins himself took to social media to confirm his decision of joining the Titans.
It wasn't just Hopkins himself who displayed excitement about joining the Titans for the upcoming season. Some of his new teammates, including Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, linebacker Rashad Weaver, and Hopkins' new quarterback Ryan Tannehill, took to social media to express their enthusiasm.
Fortunately for Judon, he won't have to wait long to give Hopkins a difficult time about his free agency decision. The Patriots and Titans will have two joint practices in Nashville before their preseason matchup at Nissan Stadium on August 25th. While they are not scheduled to face each other in the regular season, a potential playoff matchup between the two teams cannot be ruled out.
