Betting Favorite: Patriots Pick in First Round?
As the clock continues ticking down to Thursday's NFL Draft, the New England Patriots have options at the No. 14 pick.
With recent offensive line coaching hire Adrian Klemm, could New England target more beef to its offensive line such as Ohio State's' Paris Johnson or North Dakota State and FCS All American Cody Mauch?
Or could New England address its secondary and draft Illinois cornerback Devon Witherspoon - a popular pick among mock drafts. Finally, is a long-shot option George edge rusher Nolan Smith, who New England hosted among other Bulldogs in a visit last week.
While it is difficult to gauge which direction the Patriots will go prior to the official start to the draft, it still isn't stopping oddsmaker from putting their two cents in. According to DraftKings sportsbook, New England selecting an offensive lineman or cornerback lead the way at +225 odds, followed by wide receiver (+240).
While it is a long shot at the fourth-best odds (+700), the Patriots selecting a quarterback such as Florida product Anthony Richardson does not appear entirely off the table.
Rounding out the top betting odds for New England? Edge (+900), running back (+1000), tight end (+2000), safety (+2500) and linebacker (+3000).
With no single position sticking out among the pack, the Patriots look to build upon their 8-9 campaign from a season ago.
