Denver Broncos Trading Jerry Jeudy; New England Patriots Interested?

As the Denver Broncos are reportedly looking to trade away receiver Jerry Jeudy, they could find a potential trade partner in the New England Patriots.
In this story:

The New England Patriots are "starting over" after back-to-back historic blowout losses, both of which were two of the worst in coach Bill Belichick's career. But what exactly does "starting over" mean for the Patriots? After all, it is not like they can completely rip up what they are doing on offense or defense and start from scratch.

So far, as the Patriots prepare to host the Las Vegas Raiders, that "starting over" offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien has been tasked with finding ways to fix an offense that ranks near the bottom of many key metrics like points and yards per game.

However, we'd like to propose that the Patriots take it a step further and pick up the phone to seek outside reinforcements for a roster that is underperforming.

Seeking a trade or even starting negotiations with a free agent could undoubtedly help the Patriots in a number of areas, including but not limited to receiver, offensive tackle, cornerback, or edge rusher. So, who do we think the Patriots should pick up their phone and pursue?

Jerry Jeudy ... the Denver Broncos receiver, is reportedly on the trade block just five games into a disappointing start under new coach Sean Payton. Following a 1-4 start to the season, a new report from Matt Lombardo of FanBuzz stated that "multiple league sources" expect the Broncos to deal the 24-year-old before the NFL's trade deadline.

According to reports, the Denver Broncos have put Jerry Jeudy on the trade block.

If that is to be believed, then why shouldn't the Patriots pursue Jeudy? The 24-year-old already shares familiarity with quarterback Mac Jones, dating back to their time together at Alabama. Not to mention, the former first-round pick is coming off a career-year in an otherwise disastrous season for the Broncos, as he recorded 972 yards and six touchdowns on 67 receptions.

Though through five games this season, Jeudy has totaled 208 yards on 17 receptions, which would be second most on the Patriots.

Not only would Jeudy give the Patriots a receiver who already boasts past chemistry with Jones, but he'd give them someone who can be relied upon to win one-on-one matchups. According to Next Gen Stats, Jeudy is averaging three yards of separation, which would make him second-best on the team for New England, only trailing rookie Demario Douglas at 3.3 yards.

Despite the Patriots' efforts at improving their group of pass-catchers last offseason with the signings of receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and tight end Mike Gesicki, neither have exactly lived up to expectations. This is why a trade for Jeudy could make sense, as it'd give them another playmaker out wide to help an anemic offense.
