Patriots' Kendrick Bourne Reveals Preference For No. 3 Overall Draft Choice

New England Patriots receiver Kendrick Bourne hopes the team selects LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels with the third pick in April's NFL Draft.

Amidst an offseason of change for the New England Patriots, the 2024 NFL Draft is shaping up to be their most important in decades.

The Patriots hold the third overall pick, their highest selection since they took Drew Bledsoe first overall in 1993. With several holes across the roster, especially on offense, the Patriots have a chance to get a future star at one of their greatest positions of need.

New England has no shortage of options with its prized selection, but for receiver Kendrick Bourne, the choice is clear. Not only did the Patriots' top receiver balk at the idea of trading down, answering the question with a simple "don't do it," but he even named the exact quarterback he wants to see in New England.

“I like [LSU quarterback] Jayden Daniels,” Bourne told NBC Sports Boston. “I’m a Jayden Daniels fan. Heisman Trophy winner, obviously. I love how he plays, being able to be versatile. I think that would be a strong suit for us.”

Quarterback is arguably the Patriots' biggest need this offseason, and if they go in that direction come April, Daniels has been a popular pick. The Tigers quarterback dominated at the highest level of college football this season, accounting for nearly 5,000 total yards and 50 touchdowns to win the Heisman Trophy.

It remains to be seen if Bourne, a pending free agent, will stay in New England this offseason, but if he does, he clearly knows who he wants throwing him the football.
