The New England Patriots are refusing go quietly into the Nevada desert night.

Facing a 19-10 deficit with time winding down in the fourth-quarter of their Week 6 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders, quarterback Mac Jones essentially played for his job by leading the Pats on a 17-play, 75-yard drive, capped by a touchdown run by Las Vegas native Rhamondre Stevenson.

Jones highlighted the drive with 15-yard strike to receiver Kendrick Bourne, leading the Pats into scoring position. From first-and-GOAL from the Las Vegas one-yard line, Stevenson was able to push the ball across, cutting the lead to 19-17 following a Chad Ryland-extra point.

The Patriots are attempting to put consecutive demoralizing losses behind them — their most recent being a 34-0 drubbing at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. Conversely, the Raiders are looking to extend their good fortune following an emotional 17-13 victory over the Green Bay Packers last Monday.

This game marks the second-straight regular season meeting between the two teams. Last year, the Patriots traveled to the Las Vegas in December and lost, 30-24 in their first regular season visit to Allegiant Stadium.

Despite a great deal of speculation surrounding the quarterback position throughout the week, Mac Jones entered the contest as the starter, with rookie Malik Cunningham designated as his backup. Second-year signal caller Bailey Zappe is available as the emergency third quarterback, while Will Grier was a healthy scratch.

Having missed the entire week of practice while in concussion protocol, receivers Demario Douglas and JuJu Smith-Schuster were unsurprisingly ruled out for Week 6. Second-year receiver Tyquan Thornton, who was designated to return from a stint on injured reserve earlier this week, will make his season-debut, despite being listed as questionable due to a shoulder injury. Thornton has spent the first five games of 2023 on injured reserve.
