WATCH: New England Patriots Finally Score vs. Las Vegas Raiders: Ezekiel Elliott First Pats TD
Stop the presses, the New England Patriots have scored an offensive touchdown.
For the first half of their Week 6 contest at Allegiant Stadium, Mac Jones and the Pats offense looked to be putting out more of the same. Having only completed 8 of 14 for 97 yards -- including an egregious interception in the closing moments of the second quarter -- Jones led the Pats on a 10-play, 75-yard drive. On the first play from scrimmage, Pats running back Rhamondre Stevenson ripped an impressive 15-yard run. However, his head crashed hard to the turf as he was taken down, causing him to be taken from the field for further evaluation.
New England turned its attention to Ezekiel Elliott, who capped the drive for a two-yard touchdown run for his first score as a Patriot. With the six (plus a Chad Ryland-added extra point) the Pats cut the Raiders lead to 13-10.
It is the Pats' first touchdown in 40 drives.
The Patriots are attempting to put consecutive demoralizing losses behind them — their most recent being a 34-0 drubbing at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. Conversely, the Raiders are looking to extend their good fortune following an emotional 17-13 victory over the Green Bay Packers last Monday.
This game marks the second-straight regular season meeting between the two teams. Last year, the Patriots traveled to the Las Vegas in December and lost, 30-24 in their first regular season visit to Allegiant Stadium.
