Madden 24 Reveals Winner of Patriots' JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jakobi Meyers 'Trade'
The folks at EA Sports believe the New England Patriots made a smart move in essentially trading Jakobi Meyers for JuJu Smith-Schuster this offseason. But just barely.
As the rankings are released for the popular Madden 24 video game, Smith-Schuster is just ahead of Meyers. The Pats' new receiver is No. 40 with a score of 82; their old one No. 44 at 81. The Patriots let Meyers, their leading receiver in 2022, walk to the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency before signing Smith-Schuster to an almost identical contract.
The Madden ranking of receivers always tells fans that the cupboard for quarterback Mac Jones is hardly bare. Granted, the Pats missed out on signing DeAndre Hopkins (No. 7 with a score of 93). But what's left on their roster entering training camp is three of the NFL's Top 61 receivers in Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker (No. 49, 80) and Kendrick Bourne (No. 61, 78).
As for the rest of the AFC East, the Miami Dolphins sport two of the Top 15, the Bills have two in the Top 35 and Aaron Rodgers has five of the Top 78. So, at least according to the video game/stat geeks at EA, the talent disparity isn't as lopsided as most Patriots fans fear.
In the Top 100 receivers, the Jets placed five, Miami four, New England three and Buffalo only two.
