Showing up to newly-appointed head coach Jerod Mayo's introductory press conference seemed to harm former first-round quarterback, Mac Jones.

The Mac Jones era seems to be over with the New England Patriots even if the former first-round pick isn't saying much.

After being a surprise attendee to Jerod Mayo's introductory press conference as Patriots head coach, the response from the rest of the locker room regarding Jones' antics wasn't nearly as positive.

Patriots - Mac Jones Robert Kraft

"He was in his workout gear which is ironic since he cleared the entire locker at the end of the season," a team source told Greg Bedard of the Boston Journal. "I mean, come on man."

Bedrard's latest notes coming out of Foxboro detailed a team that is "sick" of the former Alabama star and seems ready to move on after recent years of offensive futility both on and off the field.

"Everyone's watched him play, they've watched him act like a prima donna," the source continued to Bedard. "The team is sick of it, everyone's sick of it."

Jones played in 11 games in 2023 while throwing for just over 2,000 yards and 10 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. He was benched late in the season for Bailey Zappe. The Patriots as a whole, suffered their worst season in decades and own the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft because of it.

Many draft experts expect New England to take a quarterback with their top pick, another sign that the Jones era has ended after just three seasons.

Despite showing up to his new coach's press conference as a sign of support, it seems to have spurned an opposite reaction from others in the organization.
