Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and receiver Julian Edelman are the best of friends, but they aren't afraid to make jokes at each other's expense.

Brady recently met with San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, the top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft who is widely seen as a generational talent. The one trait that immediately stands out about Wembanyama is his staggering height at 7-4, which makes even the 6-4 Brady look short by comparison. After complimenting Wembanyama's character, Brady took a friendly shot at the 5-10 Edelman over their height difference.

"Awesome to meet you @wemby. Incredible young man," Brady wrote. "Usually I’d make some joke here about how I think I could get 10 and 10 against you, but let’s be real… you’d send my jumper into the club level.

"PS: @edelman11 This is how you felt all those years???"

Edelman seemed to take the joke in stride, posting a GIF of Michael Scott from The Office saying "I am dead inside."

To add on to the humor, Brady took to Twitter and posted an edited version of the photo with him matching Wembanyama's height.

"Media outlets asking for permission to use this photo. Yes you may, here is the file. Disregard other photoshopped images of me and Victor," Brady wrote.

Edelman is among the most prolific pass-catchers to ever play with Brady, right up there with the likes of Rob Gronkowski and Randy Moss. The former college quarterback played 12 seasons in New England, catching 620 passes for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns, almost all of that production coming from Brady. The pair won three Super Bowls together, with Edelman earning MVP honors for his performance in Super Bowl 53 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Years since they've been teammates in New England, Brady and Edelman are still close enough to make friendly jokes at each other like this.
