New England Patriots Legend Ty Law: Pittsburgh Steelers Cheating Accusations 'Full of S***!'

Ty Law is the latest New England Patriot to shut down the idea of needing extra help to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2004 AFC Championship Game.

Ty Law believes that Jerome Bettis' nickname betrayed the Pittsburgh Steelers' strategy worse than any stolen signal ever could.

Law is the latest New England Patriots Super Bowl champion to rip into his opponents from the AFC Championship Game after the 2004 season. Prominent members of that Steelers team, namely Bettis and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, have blamed their 41-27 loss on the Patriots' supposed yields from the "Spygate" scandal. Bettis and Roethlisberger made such accusations on the latter's podcast and have already faced the wrath of New England defender Asante Samuel for their trouble.

His fellow secondary man Law took things to an NSFW level during an appearance on WEEI's "The Greg Hill Show," claiming Bettis' long-standing codename gave away everything.

"I'm going to call my boy Jerome out on this one," Law said. "Jerome Bettis, you are full of s***. Absolutely full of s***. First of all, it's fourth-and-one. What is your nickname? The Bus. We know you're getting the ball!

"Fourth-and-one, big a** running back in the back. You're getting the ball. Don't be mad at us because your O-line can't block."

True to his name, Bettis was indeed bestowed the ball during a crucial one-yard fourth down on the Steelers' second possession. Bettis was well-known for earning meaningful short yardage throughout his 14-year NFL career, playing such endeavors into a Hall of Fame ticket in 2015.

But only did Bettis fail to earn the fresh downs, as he was stopped short of the line-to-gain by Roosevelt Colvin, he lost a fumble that was recovered by New England's Mike Vrabel. Tom Brady found Deion Branch for a 60-yard scoring hook-up on the next play to put New England ahead 10-0 in the early stages.

The Bettis fumble was the first of four Pittsburgh turnovers, as Roethlisberger threw three interceptions in a disappointing end to the Steelers' 16-win season. The Patriots earned a chance to formally establish their first dynasty with the win and did so with a 24-21 triumph over Philadelphia in Super Bowl XXXIX.

Law did not play in that AFC title game, as he missed the entire trek with a foot injury. That Super Bowl was his third and final championship in New England as he moved onto the first of two stints with the New York Jets during the ensuing offseason.
