New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts in Germany: How to Watch, Betting Odds; Bill Belichick's Final Game?
The New England Patriots "host' to the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany, on Sunday morning with an unfamiliar, uncertain atmosphere surrounding the team. A win would push New England to 4-0 overall in regular season international appearances. It would also, more importantly, lighten a mood of "doom and gloom" that envelopes coach Bill Belichick's worst start since his first season in 2000.
A Boston Globe report this week claims that owner Robert Kraft will seriously consider firing Belichick if the Patriots lose in Germany and return 2-8.
“I’m going to control what I can control and get ready for the Colts,” Belichick told the media when asked if thought he would coaching for his job Sunday.
The Patriots have previous international wins in London in 2009 and 2012, and Mexico City in 2017. Belichick hopes to continue his team's world dominance, as they outscored their three previous opponents, 113-22, on foreign soil.
New England is riding a two-game losing streak and has lost five of its last six. The Patriots have scored just 10.8 points per game in those five losses, sandwiched between a 29-25 upset of the Buffalo Bills in Foxboro.
The Colts have only been marginally better. Indy has lost four of its last six and has struggled mightily on defense. The Colts are allowing 35.7 points in their last four losses.
Offensively, Indianapolis has not been able to keep up with the defensive deficiencies, although scoring an average of 26.3 points per contest in their last six.
