New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins Week 8: How to Watch, Betting Odds, Upset Alert?
The New England Patriots head south to Miami to take on the Dolphins in a rematch of division foes. In Week 2, the Dolphins and New England met at Gillette Stadium when Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins held off a late charge by the Patriots for a 24-17 win.
This time around, the 5-2 Dolphins play host, as the 2-5 Patriots are finally finding their offensive footing. In Week 7, New England beat the Bills in Buffalo 29-25, snapping a three-game skid and scoring their season-high in points in the process.
The two quarterbacks are familiar with each other and meet for the second time as NFL opponents. Tagovailoa was the fifth overall pick back in 2020 after leading Alabama to a national title and was criticized heavily over his first two seasons.
Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, also a national title winner for Alabama, is now facing that same criticism in his third season as the Patriots starter.
“A lot of times, people will look at you maybe when you’re not all the way up, you’re kind of not doing too good, and they want to see how you respond,” Jones said. “That’s what I focus on — is the response. I stick to my process, adjust my process, and then I try and, you know, carry that onto the field. So regardless of everything around you, when you stick to the process, it usually turns out good eventually.”
Jones and the Patriots will attempt to continue their offensive momentum from last week's win over the Bills while at the same time keeping playoff hopes alive.
