The New England Patriots hit the road in Week 3 to face AFC East Division foe New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. The Sunday afternoon matchup is highlighted by two teams desperate for a win.

History is on the side of the Pats, who have won 14 straight in this series.

For the first time in 22 years the New England Patriots are 0-2 to start the season. New England did not go quietly into the night during their Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night at Gillette Stadium. Quarterback Mac Jones' and running back Rhamondre Stevenson's best efforts could not overcome a 24-10 deficit.

The Jets are adjusting to life without quarterback Aaron Rodgers and looking to prove they are still contenders. New York and quarterback Zach Wilson lost to the Dallas Cowboys 30-10 in Week 2. Wilson completed 17 of 27 passes for 170 yards, one touchdown and three costly interceptions.

Both teams need momentum. Can the Patriots continue to shut down Wilson? Wilson has gone 0-4 against Bill Belichick and the Patriots in his career, throwing seven interceptions in those four games.

Jones and New England have yet to score in the first quarter of their first two games. Getting ahead early and controlling the pace will be a big factor in this one.

RECORDS: New England Patriots (0-2) at New York Jets (1-1)

ODDS: New England is a 3-point favorite vs. the Jets.

GAME TIME: Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 1 p.m. ET

THE FINAL WORD: Star edge rusher Matthew Judon after Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins:

"This is not a bad team. I don't think we're about to hang our hat up here or in that locker room, so when we come back on Monday and we watch this film we're going to get our corrections corrected. Then when we come back together on Wednesday, it's not going to be 'Oh, how are y'all going to put it together?' We already know how."
