Report: Patriots Trade for Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu
The New England Patriots are trading a second-round draft pick to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for veteran receiver Mohamed Sanu, according to the MMQB's Albert Breer.
New England had reportedly been shopping around for some more offensive firepower before the trade deadline on Oct. 29, and Sanu was one of the players they were allegedly interested in pursuing. In fact, ESPN Insider Adam Schefter noted that the Patriots have been trying to trade for Sanu since before the 2019 draft.
Whether or not you agree with New England sending a second-round pick to the Falcons is another discussion, but Sanu adds a versatile weapon to the Patriots offense who can run the entire route tree while also playing inside and outside the numbers.
New England's receiver room now consists of Sanu, Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski.
