The New England Patriots are cutting defensive lineman Mike Pennel, who joined the team this offseason, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Pennel, who played the last two seasons with the New York Jets, signed a two-year, $5 million deal with New England back in March. The deal signified that the Patriots intended on Pennel being a regular rotational player on the defensive line in 2019. However, because he struggled to produce during training camp and the first three preseason games he is now no longer part of the organization.
