Report: Patriots, CB Jonathan Jones agreed to 3-year, $21 million extension
New England locks up their starting slot cornerback for another three years.
The New England Patriots have agreed to a three-year, $21 million extension with cornerback Jonathan Jones, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Jones can get a max value of $25 million from the deal, and gets $13 million guaranteed.
As the starting slot CB for the Patriots, Jones was a crucial piece to the secondary during their Super Bowl run last season. During last year's AFC championship game, Jones was given the assignment of covering Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill because of his speed, and gave up only one reception to the pro bowl wideout.
The extension for Jones was well-deserved.
