From the Raiders' Locker Room: QB Brian Hoyer
CHICAGO, Ill.--The Las Vegas Raiders (3-4) were emBEARassed on Sunday by the lowly Chicago Bears (2-5), and after the contest, quarterback Brian Hoyer spoke in the locker room.

Q. What did you see out there? I know there were some ups and downs.
BRIAN HOYER: Look, we've got to execute better. Obviously there were a few third downs that we didn't convert. Last week was a little bit different. We converted those third downs and gave ourselves some better opportunities. Two long drives where we got in the red area and sputtered out. It's just got to be better execution. We were moving the ball, moving the ball and then got stuck. That's something we've got to really improve on.
Q. Brian, being in the locker room this week, it seemed like you guys had a great week of practice. There was a looseness, and you guys were excited. Did you see this coming at all?
BRIAN HOYER: Look, the reality is it's the NFL. No matter who you play on Sunday, if you don't come out and execute, then that's what's going to happen, and they came out and played better than we did. That's the result that you see. It doesn't matter what you do during the week, it matters what you do on Sunday, and today we just didn't execute well.
Q. How emotionally draining or disappointing is it when you don't get those points, especially for your defense?
BRIAN HOYER: Sure, look, every drive is a different drive, and when you're out there and you're stringing together 12-, 14-, 15-play drives, you want to finish with touchdowns, not field goals. Draining, I don't know. I think it's more like coming to the sideline and figuring out what can we do to execute it better so we're not stopping ourselves when we get down there. Again, you get down in the red area, penalties that go backward, those are things you have to avoid.
Q. Was there at all a focus to get Davante [Adams] involved early? What did they do to change things?
BRIAN HOYER: Yeah, I think we had a few plays scripted to get him the ball, and it was working, and then you just adjust as the game goes on and try to get him the ball different ways. Like I said, it's not really anything other than coming down to lack of execution on certain plays that can keep you out there longer, and then you have more opportunities.
The Silver and Black will stay on the road to take on the Detroit Lions on Monday night, October 30, at 8:15 p.m. EDT/5:15 p.m. PDT.
