Las Vegas Raiders Represented by Two Sports Emmy Nominations
The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the richest histories in all of sports, and it's still often recognized today.
On Tuesday, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 45th Annual Sports Emmy Awards. Of the seven nominees for "Outstanding Short Feature," two focus on Raiders icons Al Davis and John Madden: "Just Win Baby!" which aired on The NFL Today: Super Bowl LVIII on CBS, and "Madden and Stingley," which aired on Sunday Night Football on NBC and Peacock.
The following is IMDB's summary of "Just Win Baby!"
"Raiders owner Al Davis was known as a villain, a visionary and above all - a winner. This film documents his life and his career that spans four decades, three Super Bowls, two leagues and a lifetime of history in the NFL. Based on a true story, 'Al Davis: Just Win Baby' originally aired during Super Bowl 58 on CBS and provides an intimate look at the NFL icon that is Al Davis."
The six-minute short film, which was based on a true story, was carried out by actors who portrayed critical figures in the Raiders' history, including Madden, Tom Flores, Art Shell, Amy Trask and, of course, Davis.
The film was directed by Peter Radovich and written by Billy Scafuri.
