Raiders Lose "Dawg" Amik Robertson
The Las Vegas Raiders have had a disciplined offseason, but on Wednesday they lost a young man who was a pure playmaker in cornerback Amik Robertson.
Robertson's infectious personality will be greatly missed by his teammates, who loved the young man as a person and a player.
Per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network:
The #Lions are signing CB Amik Robertson to a two-year, $9.25 million deal that’s worth up to $10.75M with incentives, per source. Robertson appeared in 52 games (21 starts) with the #Raiders and can play the slot. Another significant DB addition after the Carlton Davis trade.
Raiders superstar DE Maxx Crosby took to social media to say, " LionsGot A Dawg Congrats, My Boy."
General Manager Tom Telesco spoke about what he learned evaluating his Raiders roster, and his explanation fit Robterston clearly.
"I think the one thing that jumped off kind of doing a deeper dive is how tough a football team it was, and I would say that on offense, defense, and the kicking game," Telesco said. "But tough, resilient and really committed to the process. Just watching the whole situation, how the season played out from how it started and then your head coach is no longer there, and then how you finished it with a new head coach. But it's a really tough-minded, mentally tough football team. So, that's what kind of came out the most."
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
