Disrespect for Pierce, 2024 Raiders Has Begun

The 2024 season has begun, and kickoff is still months away, but the disrespect for Coach Antonio Pierce and the Las Vegas Raiders already is well underway.

HENDERSON, Nev.--The 2024 NFL season began after the Super Bowl here in Southern Nevada on Sunday night, and the disrespect for Coach Antonio Pierce and the Las Vegas Raiders is already underway.

Betonline.com recently revealed the odds for the team that will open on the road to face the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. There is no disrespect in that, and in case you are wondering, here are those odds.

Kansas City Chiefs 2024 Week Opponent

Los Angeles Chargers 5/4 (plus 125)

Baltimore Ravens 7/4 (plus 175)

Cincinnati Bengals 3/1 (plus 300)

Houston Texans 9/2 (plus 450)

Las Vegas Raiders 7/1 (plus 700)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10/1 (plus 1000)

Denver Broncos 12/1 (plus 1200)

New Orleans Saints 14/1 (plus 1400)

The Las Vegas Raiders physically beat up the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day last year and would love the opportunity to open the 2024 NFL season.

There is nothing wrong with that. I would personally, as a journalist, love to see the Silver and Black in Kansas City on opening weekend, and I think the team would also like that.

So where is the disrespect?

Despite the Raiders having won, and handing the Chiefs their last loss of the 2023 season, and doing it at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas day, of all the teams, the Raiders have the worst odds. The worst.

Even the New Orleans Saints have better odds than Coach Antonio Pierce's men.

Even after Chiefs Coach Andy Reid told Peter King of NBC Sports:

“I texted him (Antonio Pierce)," Reid said, I just said: Hey, beautiful facility, first of all. And I appreciate you kicking our tail because you taught us a lesson.”

Game 1 Spreads

· Los Angeles Chargers plus 5½

· Baltimore Ravens plus 3

· Cincinnati Bengals plus 3½

· Houston Texans plus 5

· Las Vegas Raiders plus 7

· Tampa Bay Buccaneers plus 6½

· Denver Broncos plus 7½

· New Orleans Saints plus 6

The Las Vegas Raiders are back to the ways of the past. They keep receipts, and no doubt, getting no respect this early is one they hope to cash.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
