Raiders OL Gets Reps Against Three-Time Defensive POY

Las Vegas Raiders offensive line going up against three-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald in joint practices.

In joint practices, the Los Vegas Raiders offensive line will have some heavy tests this week against the Los Angeles Rams.

With a relatively new Raiders offensive line, they will benefit from going against one of the best defensive players in the NFL, defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

Donald has proven to be one of the best defensive players in the 21st century. The 10-year veteran has three defensive player of the League trophies as well as 490 career tackles and 103 career sacks.

The Raiders offensive line could face Aaron Donald in joint practices in 2021. However, the Raiders offensive line looked a lot different that season than it is does now. 

This opportunity will be great for offensive linemen like center Andre James, guard Alex Bars, and guard Netane Muti to go up against a phenomenal defensive player like Donald. 

James is entering his fifth year as the starting center for the Raiders. The former undrafted free agent of UCLA signed with the Raiders in 2019. He has started 33 games and received recognition from Pro Football Focus as the 19th-best center in the NFL last season.

Bars also is entering his fifth year as an offensive lineman in the NFL. This is his second season with the Silver and Black after spending three seasons with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. Bars ended up playing 15 games last season.

Muti is entering his fourth season as an offensive lineman and his first season with the Raiders. He spent three seasons with the Denver Broncos after they selected him in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. 

All eyes will surely be on the Raiders' offensive line against the talented Donald.

The Silver and Black return to preseason action when they play the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 9 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. PDT.
