The Las Vegas Raiders have a big draft coming up at the end of this month.

With 12 total picks as of now, it's possible the club could have one of its best draft classes ever.

But which draft class was its best?

In a recent article, Sports Illustrated's Matt Verderame gave his choices for every NFL team's best draft class of all time.

For the Silver and Black, he chose the 1968 class.

That legendary class included Raider greats, Ken Stabler and Art Shell.

Verderame wrote the following about this draft class.

"The Raiders used their first-round pick on Tennessee quarterback Eldridge Dickey, the first Black signal-caller ever drafted in the opening round. However, Oakland moved him to a receiver before Dickey threw a professional pass.

"In the second and third rounds, Oakland landed another quarterback in Ken Stabler from Alabama and left tackle Art Shell from Maryland State. Both wound up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, with Stabler winning 1974 MVP honors and Shell earning eight Pro Bowls."

In 1968, the Raiders also selected running back Clarence Davis in the fourth round out of USC, defensive back George Atkinson from Morris Brown in round seven, fullback Marv Hubbard of Colgate and linebacker Chip Oliver from USC, both in the 11th round.

All became standouts for the Raiders.
