Las Vegas Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: LB Noah Sewell, Oregon
One area the Las Vegas Raiders haven't done well over the last few years is drafting high-quality players in the earlier rounds, but that might change this year.
Now, in his second season, Raiders General Manager Dave Ziegler will need to continue to bring in talent from earlier draft rounds.
This offseason, we'll be working alongside SI’s Draft Bible to get you the latest information on any potential players the Raiders may consider drafting, including some who might fall to day three of the 2023 NFL Draft.
“We’re going to continue to find players who fit what we look for, and continue to build this team in our vision, and I think we’re going to, at the same time, our goal is to win football games, and our goal for next year is to make an improvement over where we were this year,” Raiders General Manager Dave Ziegler said.
Linebacker Noah Sewell, Oregon
“Noah Sewell is a well-rounded downhill player who excels against the run and can add value as a pass rusher early in the NFL; still, he must refine his work in coverage, develop his instincts, and clean up his tackling,” Draft Bible said of Sewell.
The 6-3, 235-pound linebacker played in his first 12 games before opting out of the SDCCU Holiday Bowl and declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft.
Sewell finished last season with 56 tackles (24 solos) while adding six tackles for losses, two sacks, four pass breakups, an interception, and a fumble return.
In doing so, Sewell demonstrated his versatility as a linebacker; he excels in stopping the run, does great as a pass rusher, and has enough in the tank to cover players.
Projected as a second-round selection, adding a player of his caliber in that round is a draft steal and a bargain for the Raiders.
The NFL Draft will occur at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo., between Thursday, March 27, to Saturday, April 29. ESPN, ABC, and NFL Network will broadcast all seven rounds.
