Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: Guard Puni of Kansas
The Las Vegas Raiders need to make some offseason additions to their interior offensive line, whether it's at guard, center, or both.
Next month's draft will be a great chance to add some depth, especially considering the vast number of offensive linemen who are able to play along most of the O-line.
Guard Dominick Puni of Kansas is one of those prospects, as Puni has experience starting ar both a tackle and guard.
Puni comes off a 2023 season in which he was selected to the All-Big 12 First Team. He started at left tackle, helping lead the Jayhawks to the 17th best scoring offense in the nation at 34.8 points per game, the ninth best rushing offense at 206.0 rushing yards per game, and the 21st best total offense at 446.1 yards per game.
Kansas finished the season with a 9-4 record and was ranked 23rd in the final AP Poll.
The season before, Puni took all his snaps at left guard and received All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors.
Puni transferred to Kansas after four seasons at Central Missouri. He started all 13 games at left tackle in the 2019 season and played seven games in the 2018 season, including three starts at right tackle.
At the 2024 NFL Combine last week, Puni recorded a 5.35-second 40-yard dash time, a 1.86-second 10-yard split time, a 30-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot-11-inch broad jump, a 7.47-second three-cone drill time, and a 4.4-second 20-yard shuttle.
NFL Next Gen stats gave him a production score of 68, an athleticism score of 76, and a total score of 73.
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
