Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: WR Jalen McMillan, UW
The Las Vegas Raiders might want to look for a wide receiver with one of their picks in this year's draft. Should they use their earlier picks on areas of higher need, there is still a lot of wide receiver talent that can be acquired in the middle rounds.
One of those prospects is former Washington wide receiver Jalen McMillan, who, prior to the 2023 season, was considered to be a Day 2 pick.
McMillan unfortunately suffered a knee injury against Michigan State in the Huskies' third game of the season. Because of that, he would play just 11 games while being limited in some as well. McMillan was still able to finish the season with 559 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns, including 33 receiving yards and a touchdown against Michigan in the national title game.
He also recorded 58 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Huskies' victory over No. 3 Texas in the Sugar Bowl.
McMillan's best season happened to be the year prior when he posted 1,098 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 79 receptions in 13 games. He was named an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention, as well as an All-Pac-12 First Team honoree by Pro Football Network, an All-Pac-12 Second Team honoree by Pro Football Focus, and an All-Pac-12 Third Team honoree by Phil Steele. His receiving-yard and reception total ranked him third in the conference.
The season prior (2021), McMillan made nine starts in 11 appearances. He played in just three games as a true freshman in 2020.
Drafting McMillan as late as the fourth round would be a huge move for the Raiders, considering, as previously mentioned, they could have their eyes set on other positions in the first two days.
From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
