Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: T Taliese Fuaga
It would be in the Las Vegas Raiders' best interest to select an offensive tackle in this year's NFL Draft, and taking one in the first round likely ensures they get a top-three prospect at the position in 2024 class.
Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga is one of those three.
Fuaga comes off a stellar final season with the Beavers, having been named to the All-Pac-12 First Team and the Associated Press All-America Second Team.
The 6-foot-6, 334-pound tackle received a 90.9 run-blocking grade and a 91.3 zone grade from Pro Football Focus for his 2023 season.
The prospect also was a semifinalist for the 2023 Outland Trophy, an award annually to the best interior lineman in the nation, as well as being a semifinalist for the 2023 Lombardi Award.
Fuaga had a solid 2022 campaign as well. He and the Beavers' offensive line blocked for a running offense that produced 196.5 rushing yards per game, which was ranked top-30 in the nation. Fuaga was recognized as an All-Pac-12 Second Team honoree and was a PFF All-American Honorable Mention.
Before that season, Fuaga played in 10 games for Oregon State in 2021 and four in 2020.
Fuaga's specialty is his run blocking, but with his size, he should be a tough blocker to get past when he drops into pass protection.
The Raiders suffered a lot of injuries on the O-line this past season and had to move some players around up front. Fuaga's presence would allow Las Vegas to be flexible on the offensive line, should it have to take that approach again in the future.
From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
