Pierce Drops a Truth Bomb on Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL

Coach Antonio Pierce and the Las Vegas Raiders want to change the narrative in the AFC West, and the Silver and Black's new leader drops a truth bomb about it.
In this story:

The Kansas City Chiefs have had their hold on the AFC West for eight straight years.

With six consecutive trips to the AFC Championship game, plus three appearances to the Super Bowl that, so far have resulted in two titles, the Chiefs have established themselves as not just the gold standard in the division or the conference as a whole, but the National Football League.

The Las Vegas Raiders, who have made only two playoff appearances during Kansas City's run, want to be the ones to end their reign, and Raiders Coach Antonio Pierce believes it can be done.

In fact, Pierce believes the rest of the AFC West have "got their work cut out for" facing his team.

"I mean, I can only go off my nine games, right?" Pierce said when he joined SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday. "We were 3-1 in the division. The way we played, I think, was very convincing in those games."

While completely respectful of the Chiefs, Pierce dropped a truth bomb informing the NFL world that the Silver and Black aren't afraid of anyone, and he intends to change the narrative in the AFC West.

"We're going to be a problem," Pierce said. "I'm not looking at everybody else, but they're going to have to start looking at us and the Raiders. That's the approach we're taking. I get it. We've got to earn it. AP's just talking smack, no, we're not.

"Just, we're going to work. We're going to work this whole offseason, get the best staff we can to put together, we're going to believe. We got one goal and that's to win the division.

"We know what it goes through, but it doesn't have to go through the team in red. We can make it where it goes through Silver and Black. And that's going to be our goal."

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
