Aidan O'Connell Nominated for NFL's Rookie of the Week
Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell gets great recognition when he is nominated for Week 15 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week.
Last week, O'Connell had the best performance of his rookie season since taking over as the starting quarterback for the Silver and Black.
In Week 15 against the Los Angeles Chargers, O'Connell finished the game by passing for 248 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. O'Connell has completed 63.1 percent of his passes in eight games for 1,613 yards and nine touchdowns.
The former Purdue Boilermaker had the chance to speak to the media after the Raiders dominating, 63-21 victory over the Chargers last week.

"I'm just super proud of our guys for executing well," O'Connell said. "I think we were almost spared to have a short week here, so we couldn't really think about what happened and we had to move on. Getting to move on from everything that happened on Sunday was great for us, and to be able to do this is pretty awesome. Every phase did a really good job, and it was really fun to watch and fun to be a part of."
This Monday against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium will be O'Connell's second career game, going head-to-head against them as the Raiders' starting quarterback.
In the last game against the Chiefs, O'Connell completed 23-of-33 passes for 248 yards and one touchdown.
O'Connell spoke to the media on Wednesday about his approach for his second career game against the Chiefs on Christmas Day.
"Any time you play a team like this you got to stay within yourself, play one play at a time," O'Connell said. "Obviously, there's history between the two teams, but in any game, you have to lock in with each play, and each situation, and try to stay ahead of the sticks and just make smart decisions. So, I know I have to do that to give us an opportunity to win."
