Raiders Contract Year Players: Amik Robertson
The Las Vegas Raiders are about to make selections in the 2023 NFL Draft, all part of the continuous process of roster construction.
While the Raiders are focused on the immediate future with free agency and this year’s draft, it’s never too early to think about the players who will be free agents during the next offseason. General Manager Dave Ziegler and his team can always keep tabs on expiring contracts.
One of those players is cornerback Amik Robertson. Robertson saw his role increase last season, starting seven games, the most of his career.
Let’s take a closer look at Robertson’s career so far and see if he should be back in Silver and Black once his contract expires.
The Raiders selected Robertson in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Louisiana Tech. In his first season, he appeared in eight games and recorded four tackles.
In the last couple years, he has continued to see the field more and more. In his first year under Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham, Robertson recorded a career-high 38 tackles, two tackles for losses, seven pass break ups, two interceptions and one sack.
Robertson also had a 68-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown against the Denver Broncos, which was the first defensive touchdown for the Raiders in three seasons.
Amik Robertson has improved each season as a Raider and is set to be a free agent next year. He is only 24 years old, and the team could solidify him as a long-term option at cornerback if they extend him.
