Raiders Hosted OLB Byron Young For Top-30 Visit
As we have constantly said all offseason, defensive improvement is going to be important for the Las Vegas Raiders before they take the field in August.
They seem to have made it a priority, as a number of the Raiders' Top-30 visits have come from that side of the football so far.
Jeremy Fowler of The Draft Network reported on Tuesday that the Raiders have met with Tennessee outside linebacker Byron Young for a Top-30 visit.
Young was one of the nation's top players at his position last season, ultimately being named to the All-SEC First Team by coaches and Second Team by the Associated Press.
He finished the season 37 tackles, 12 for losses, seven sacks and 14 quarterback hits in 13 games.
Despite having only made third-team All-SEC by Phil Steele for his 2021 season, Young actually had a better first-year campaign for the Volunteers. He recorded 46 tackles, 11 for losses, 5.5 sacks, two passes defensed and an interception in only 11 games.
Prior to his time with Tennessee, Young played a season of JUCO at Georgia Military College, where he totaled 31 tackles, 11 for losses and seven sacks in 11 games.
The Raiders currently have 12 picks in this month's NFL Draft.
