Raiders to Host C.J. Stroud, Hendon Hooker For Top-30 Visits
The Las Vegas Raiders plan to host two more of the top quarterbacks in this month's NFL Draft.
NFL insider Albert Breer reported Thursday that the club would host Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker for Top-30 visits this week.
The Raiders already have hosted quarterback prospects Anthony Richardson and Will Levis.
Stroud was a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist who was part of two trips to the College Football Playoffs.
In the last two seasons, Stroud has been one of the best quarterbacks in college football, registering 3,688 passing yards and 41 touchdowns last season and 4,435 passing yards and 44 touchdowns the year before.
Stroud was named a 2022 second-team All-American by Walter Camp Foundation, CBS Sports, and American Football Coaches Association.
Hooker is the 2022 SEC Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for 3,135 yards and 27 touchdowns as a redshirt senior.
The star quarterback was with Virginia Tech for four seasons before transferring in January of 2021.
Hooker started in 22 of 24 games for Tennessee and in total, posted 6,080 passing yards and 58 touchdowns as a Volunteer.
Last season, Hooker led Tennessee to the second-best record in the SEC (11-2), trailing only eventual college football champion Georgia.
Both quarterbackss were finalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year and the Maxwell Award.
The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period began at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15.
The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this offseason.
