Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams burst to a strong start in Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Adams posted 73 yards on only five receptions in the first half and was a big part of the Raiders' early 14-0 start.

That production halted after halftime, though, as the second-year Raiders receiver did not have a single reception in the second half.

Adams was thrown to only twice by Raiders rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell in the second half after the six-time Pro Bowler went five-for-five in the first.

"I think with Davante, you try to look for opportunities as much as you can," O'Connell told reporters after his team's 31-17 loss at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. "I know I missed him on that third-and-8 at the end of the game and missed him on a couple more. So, it's my responsibility to get him the ball, especially when he's in one-on-one situations and we're continuing to call plays for him to get him open.

"And so, we've got to do a better job -- myself -- of just getting the ball to him in space and letting him be a good athlete."

Adams did not feel there was anything Kansas City did to faze him despite the second-half execution.

"No disrespect to them, but it was more about what we were doing," Adams said. "I mean, we really just didn't execute in the second [half] the way we had been in positions that put us with some points on the board. So we've just got to do a better job of sticking to the things that get us to that point, staying aggressive and just finding a way to finish it."

Adams is on pace to record a little more tha 1,150 receiving yards on fewer than 100 receptions this season. He posted 1,500-plus receiving yards in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, and has finished with at least 100 receptions in each of the last three seasons.

The Silver and Black will return home to Allegiant Stadium to take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, December 10, at 4:05 p.m. EST/1:05 p.m. PST.
