Davante Adams Playing in American Century Championship

Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams is participating in the 2023 American Century Championship in South Lake Tahoe, Nev.

The offseason is a chance for players to relax and take some time to enjoy themselves before they return to the rigorous workouts and regimen of the NFL season.

This is the case even for Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams. After being named a First-Team All-Pro for the third year and a Pro Bowler for the sixth year, Adams looks to have another excellent season.

Adams is participating in the 2023 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in South Lake Tahoe, Nev. This is a 54-hole celebrity tournament in Modified Stableford scoring format.

Adams began his play on Thursday, the tournament's second day, at hole eight. The tournament began on Wednesday, July 12, and concludes on Sunday, July 16. He is paired with two legendary former wide receivers, Jerry Rice and Larry Fitzgerald.

Adams is not the only Raider in the tournament, as Raiders legends Tim Brown and Marcus Allen will also play. Several current NFL players are playing, including Aaron Rodgers, Baker Mayfield, and Adam Thielen.

There are also several celebrities in other work areas in the tournament, including comedian Nate Bargatze and actor Alfonso Ribeiro. This tournament is widely considered one of the premier celebrity golf tournaments.

This is Adams’ first appearance in the American Century Championship, but the tournament has been ongoing for 33 years. Several NFL players, including former Raiders quarterbacks Derek Carr and Carson Palmer, have played in the tournament.

Adams will have his work cut out for him if he wants to win the tournament, as several of the celebrities in the tournament are excellent golfers. 

NBA star Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is an avid golfer and has been a contestant in “The Match,” a televised golf match-up that features professional golfers and other professional athletes.

The NFL season is right around the corner, and soon, players will be back in pads practicing. Still, before it begins, Adams and a few Raiders legends are enjoying their time and playing golf in the American Century Championship.
