Assault Charge Against Adams From KC Incident Dropped
Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams took a lot of heat when he shoved a cameraman following the Raiders' Monday Night Football loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in October.
Adams was charged with misdemeanor assault by the state of Missouri for the incident.
The Kansas City Municipal Court issued a citation on a couple days after the event saying Adams “did, by an intentional, overt act, inflict bodily injury or cause an unlawful offensive contact upon [the victim] by pushing [him] to the ground using two hands causing whiplash and headache. Possible minor concussion,” per KCTV5.
On Friday, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City Municipal Court said the case was dismissed on June 5, according to the Kansas City Star.
Adams was also never punished by the NFL for the shove, as the league chose to wait for the legal process to run its course.
The All-Pro wide receiver, however, was sued by the victim last month. The Raiders and Chiefs were sued as well. That case is pending.
The victim, Park Zebley, claimed to have suffered concussion-like symptoms after the incident.
Adams apologized for the shove in a tweet he posted after the game. He soon after deleted it.
Here's what he wrote:
"Sorry to the guy I pushed over after the game. Obviously very frustrated at the way the game ended and when he ran in front of me as I exited that was my reaction and I felt horrible immediately. That's not me..MY APOLOGIES man hope you see this."
Adams and the Raiders will be back at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas Day.
