Training camp is starting up for the Las Vegas Raiders and star wide receiver Davante Adams, who is entering his second season with the Silver and Black.

In 2022, Adams caught 100 passes for 1,516 yards and 12 touchdowns and was named First Team All-Pro for the third straight season.

What will be different this season, however, is that Adams will be catching passes from yet another new quarterback, this time from Jimmy Garoppolo, who signed a three-year contract with the Raiders in March. Adams caught passes last season from Derek Carr, his former college teammate at Fresno State.

Adams addressed the media on Wednesday and spoke about what it’s like to catch passes from so many different quarterbacks.

“I mean, it’s different,” Adams said. It’s guys timing, the ball comes out differently, different way you release the ball, but it’s all just throwing at the end of the day. Nothing that the reps can’t kind of get you used to, so it’s not like worse or better -- it can be, but in my situation, I’ve had some guys that know how to get the ball out. So, it’s been a pretty easy transition for me.”

Adams also spent eight years in Green Bay with the Packers catching passes from Aaron Rodgers, one of the greatest quarterbacks of this generation.

Once he gets his first reception from Garoppolo, Adams will have caught passes from four quarterbacks in the last three seasons: Rodgers, Carr, Jarrett Stidham and Garoppolo.

Adams will look to develop chemistry with Garoppolo, as the rapport between a quarterback and his top wide receiver is so important. Adams is an easy player to develop chemistry with, as he catches nearly everything thrown his way, which should quickly earn him the trust of Garoppolo.

Adams and the Raiders are looking to reach the postseason in 2023 with a retooled roster. While he will have a new quarterback throwing him passes for another season, he will still be the dynamic receiving threat he has been throughout his entire career.

Adams and Garoppolo are leading the way for the Raiders’ offense, and their growing chemistry only raises the ceiling of what they are capable of this season.

The Silver and Black open the preseason by hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Aug. 13, at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT.
