The Las Vegas Raiders are only three days away from kicking off their 2023-24 NFL season against the Denver Broncos.

With that, the Raiders play familiar faces that have spent some time with the Raiders organization over the years. Even some Raiders personnel have connections with the Broncos organization as well.

Starting off, the Raiders get to face against Broncos Assistant Head Coach Paul Kelly, who spent two seasons with the Raiders in 2002 and 2003 as an assistant coach.

During the 2002 season, he helped former Coach Bill Callahan and the Raiders to their first Super Bowl appearance in 19 years. The Raiders were represented as the AFC champions in Super Bowl XXXVII.

The Raiders also get to face Defensive Quality Control Coach Addison Lynch, who spent the 2021 season as the Raiders assistant defensive backs coach. He helped Raiders cornerback Brandon Facyson record his first-ever interception.

The Silver and Black also are facing against a quarterback who was on the team last season. Jarrett Stidham served as the starting quarterback for two games last season. In those games, he threw 53 passes for 656 yards and four touchdowns.

Silver and Black General Manager Dave Ziegler also gets to watch the Raiders play a team he once worked for. Ziegler spent three seasons with the Broncos from 2010-2012, working in the organization's scouting department. The Broncos won two AFC West Titles during Ziegler's time in Denver.

Assistant General Manager Champ Kelly also gets to watch the Raiders play against the Broncos, whom he worked for. Kelly spent five seasons as the Broncos Assistant Director of Pro Personnel and was a part of four AFC West titles the Broncos won during his time in Denver.

Lastly, Coach Josh McDaniels returns to Empower Filed at Mile High once again. McDaniels served as the Broncos head coach from 2009-2010, being, at the time, the fifth-youngest NFL head coach in NFL history.

The Silver and Black open the regular season at the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 4:25 p.m. EDT/1:25 p.m. PDT.
