Raiders Face Lions' Productive WR St. Brown
The Las Vegas Raiders are preparing for a Monday Night Football game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Detroit.
The Raiders are trying to get back on track, and the Lions are looking to bounce back from their worst loss of the season. The Lions will prove to be one of the toughest tests of the seaaon for the Raiders, and the Lions cannot overlook the Silver and Black.
The Lions have one of the most explosive and efficient offenses in the NFL, and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has been a massive reason for that. The third-year player has become one of the league's most reliable and productive receivers.
St. Brown was a fourth-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft out of USC. St. Brown believes he should have been selected earlier in the draft, and he firmly remembers every wide receiver chosen before him, showing an extraordinary competitive edge.
St. Brown contributed to the Lions’ offense almost immediately in his rookie season, catching 90 passes for 912 yards and five touchdowns. From Week 13 of that season on, he caught 51 passes for 560 yards.
Since then, St. Brown has become the focal point of a high-scoring Lions’ offense. He has developed a connection with quarterback Jared Goff and was the ninth-most targeted receiver in the NFL last season.
St. Brown has caught 51 passes for 557 yards and three touchdowns in six games this season. He has developed into one of the most high-volume players in the NFL and has been the engine behind an elite Lions’ passing game.
St. Brown is 6-feet tall and weighs 202 pounds. While he is not the biggest receiver, he is a sharp, precise route runner who consistently gets open in the short field and creates yards after the catch. He has been targeted 69 times this season, seventh-most in the NFL.
The Raiders have been playing well defensively this season but will face one of their toughest tests with St. Brown and the Lions’ passing game. Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham must account for how St. Brown can attack his defense and how heavily he will be targeted.
The Raiders must find a way to slow down St. Brown and the Lions’ passing attack, or it will be a long evening in Detroit.
The Silver and Black will stay on the road to take on the Detroit Lions on Monday night, Oct. 30, at 8:15 p.m. EDT/5:15 p.m. PDT.
