NFL MVP Has Strong Comparison for Raiders' Crosby

There is no doubt that Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raidersn has become one of the best defensive ends in the National Football League.

Crosby finished the season as a finalist for this year's 2024 Defensive Player of the Yea award, along with Micah Parsons and DaRon Bland of the Dallas Cowboys, TJ Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns, who won the award.

The 2023-24 NFL regular season statistically was the best in Crosby's his five-season career. He finished the season with 55 solo tackles, 35 assists, 14.5 sacks and one fumble recovery in 17 games.

Throughout all of Super Bowl week in Las Vegas, many people around the NFL, including former players, had the opportunity to talk about the Raiders.

Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton talked about Crosby and compare him to future Hall of Fame defensive end JJ Watt of the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals.

"Maxx has a lot of JJ Watt in him," Newton said. "It's not anything other than his effort. I love his effort. Skill can get you so far, but effort can take you further. What I see when I watch him is just high-energy."

In 12 NFL seasons, Watt finished with 449 solo tackles, 137 assists, 114.5 sacks and 17 fumble recoveries with the Texans and Cardinals.

In five seasons played with the Raiders, Crosby has 205 solo tackles, 116 assists, 52.0 sacks and three fumble recoveries.

Crosby is the foundation of thee Silver and Black's defense, and it will be exciting to watch what he will bring as a top-tier edge rusher for years to come.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
