Why Three Raiders Edge Rushers Can Be Factors in 2024

The Las Vegas Raiders might just have the best defensive edge trio in the NFL, which could be a factor for the 2024-25 NFL regular season.

One highlight from the Las Vegas Raiders' 2023-24 NFL regular season was finishing with a top-10 defense, led by Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham and a very talented defensive line.

Three players on the defensive line can be the best defensive edge trio for the Raiders next NFL season, starting with defensive end Maxx Crosby.

Crosby finished the 2023-24 NFL regular season with the highest Pro Football Focus and PFF defensive grades on the Silver and Black defense. He ended the season with a PFF defensive grade of 92.0, a run defense grade of 92.7, and a pass rush grade of 83.9.

This was was Crosby's best season statistically with the Raiders, as he finished with 55 solo tackles, 35 assists, 14.5 sacks and one fumble recovery in 17 games.

Raiders edge rusher Malcolm Koonce also can be a factor for the Silver and Black defensive line in 2024. Koonce broke out on the Raiders defensive line this season. He finished the season with a PFF defensive grade of 81.3, a run defense grade of 66.3 and a pass rush grade of 78.9. This season was Koonce's best season statistically on the Raiders. He finished with 32 solo tackles, 11 assists and 8.0 sacks in 17 games.

Lastly, edge rusher Tyree Wilson can be a factor for the Silver and Black's defensive line in 2024. Wilson played his entire rookie season, but he was not 100 percent after dealing with injuries in college. Wilson finished the season with a PFF defensive grade of 47. 1, a run defense grade of 47.6, and a pass rush grade of 50.0. In his first season with the Silver and Black, he finished with 16 solo tackles, 13 assists, three and a half sacks and one fumble recovery in 17 games. 

These three Raiders edge rushers can make an impact next season for the Silver and Black, potentially finishing the 2024-25 NFL season as the best trio of edge rushers in the NFL.
