Packer Players Speak on Raiders WR Davante Adams
There is no doubt that All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams had this week five game against the Packers circled on his calendar when the 2023-24 NFL regular season schedule was first released.
Adams gets to go head-to-head with the team he spent eight seasons with.
This Monday night will be Adams' first time going up against his former teammates while suiting and playing for the Silver and Black. Adams was traded from the Packers to the Raiders during the 2022 NFL offseason.
Before the Packers and Raiders face off on Monday night, multiple Packer players had the chance to speak about their former teammate.
Packers defensive lineman Kenny Clark spoke on his former teammate Adams, who was his teammate of Adams for six seasons.
"It's going to be cool seeing him out there on the field," Clark said. "He was a great guy in this locker room, a great teammate and I'm excited to get a chance to go out there and play against him and compete against him."
Third-year quarterback and now starting quarterback for the Packers, Jordan Love, also praised his former teammate. He and Adams were teammates for one season.
"He's a special player," Love said. "He does it every day at practice, he does it every day in the game and he's a guy who we're going to have to step up and handle business against because he's a good player."
Lastly, Packers running back Aaron Jones spoke about his former teammate. Jones spent five seasons with Adams on the Packers.
"He's definitely taught me a lot just within your pace to the game, how you can kind of go out there and play basketball, play freely," Jones said. "You don't have to be so robotic and then when the opportunity is there, when it presents itself go make that play that you been doing for your whole life. So, like you said, I'm a huge fan of him. I think he's one of the best in the game, but you guys know that."
The Silver and Black return home to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas next week to play the Green Bay Packers on Monday, Oct. 9, at 8:15 p.m. EDT/5:15 p.m. PDT.
