While Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo ultimately finished Sunday night's 23-18 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with 324 passing yards and two touchdowns, it will always be the bad that outweighs the good in a loss.

The first-year Raider ended up throwing three interceptions, making it two weeks in a row he's thrown more than one pick.

"Those are plays, obviously, we don't want to make," said Raiders Coach Josh McDaniels when he spoke to the media after the game. "And I think Jimmy makes a lot of good plays, but obviously, when the quarterback holds the ball, he holds the fortune of our team, also, in his hands when he's doing those things. And he knows. He understands the situation and had a couple plays where we've got to make a smarter choice and just go ahead and go to the next play, whether it's second-and-long or whatever it might be.

"But turning it over, this team [Pittsburgh] is a team historically that they win when they get turnovers and they have a harder time when they don't. And so, a big key, obviously, was for us to take care of the ball. And we didn't do a good enough job of that tonight."

Garoppolo's first pick shifted the momentum for the Steelers early in the second quarter. They would use that drive to make a go-ahead field goal, which they then followed with another right before halftime.

Pittsburgh later made a third field goal early in the second half, and with an opportunity to answer and make it a one-possession game again, Garoppolo would throw his second pick.

The last interception from the veteran quarterback would put the nail in the coffin as he threw it to the Steelers' defense on the Raiders' final attempt to tie the game and force overtime.

Garoppolo has thrown six picks through the first three games of the season.

The Silver and Black return to the road next week in Inglewood, Calif., to play the Los Angeles Chargers (1-2) on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 4:05 p.m. EDT/1:05 p.m. PDT.
