Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs will be a free agent this offseason, but he wants to continue to don the Silver and Black.

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is in a much different position than last offseason.

In 2022, the Raiders chose not to extend a fifth-year option to any eligible players, including Jacobs.

Now, Jacobs is looking to bring in some big-time cash as a free agent this off-season, having been perhaps the league's best running back this past season after attaining the NFL rushing crown and being named an All-Pro for the first time in his career.

Despite all the possibilities, Jacobs wants to stay a Raider.

"I would be a cluck not to explore [free agency]," Jacobs told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Saturday. "But I'm not going to lie, this is where I want to be. I've grown a fan base here, I'm deep into this organization, I've broke records and I built a home here. This is where I want to be, but at the same time, it's got to make sense. I'm not going to let them come in and disrespect me or anything like that. So it just has to make sense."

Jacobs said he and the club have not discussed an offer yet.

The Pro Bowler comes off the best season of his career, his rushing-title mark reaching 1,653 yards with a league-leading 97.2 yards per game average. Jacobs also led the league with 2,052 yards from scrimmage.

The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. The NFL Scouting Combine is Feb. 28-March 6, 2023, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. March 7, 2023, before 4 p.m. EST is the club's deadline to designate Franchise or Transition Players.

March 13-15 is the free agent negotiation period. Starting at 12 p.m. EST on March 13 and ending at 3:59:59 p.m. EST on March 15, clubs are permitted to contact and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2022 Player Contracts at 4 p.m. EST on March 15.

The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period begins at 4 p.m. EST on March 15. The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this season.
