It was as if the Las Vegas Raiders experienced deja vu in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills when their star of the game, wide receiver Davante Adams, went down late after a hard hit to the head.

The week before, Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers' masterful performance finished with a rough hit to the head.

Both plays against the receivers were ruled as unnecessary roughness.

After Meyers' 81-receiving-yard, two-touchdown showing in Week 1, the first-year Raider missed Sunday's game in Buffalo, having been in concussion protocol the entire week.

Adams, who posted 84 receiving yards and a touchdown in the loss, did not return to the game following his injury.

Fortunately for the two receivers, the Raiders and Raider Nation,  Coach Josh McDaniels had assuring news to report in his press conference on Monday.

"Tae is good and Jakobi is just going through the process in terms of coming back," McDaniels said. "I'm not going to say anything about where I feel like that is or isn't yet because I could be wrong quickly. Tae's good and Jakobi is headed in the right direction, and we'll see how this week goes."

Meyers' Week 1 game was his first as a Raider.

Las Vegas signed the 26-year-old wide receiver as an unrestricted free agent in March.

Before joining the Silver and Black, Meyers played four seasons with the New England Patriots, with whom he totaled 2,758 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

Meyers was signed by New England as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina State in 2019.

Adams, meanwhile, is in his second year with the Raiders, having previosuly played eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

Sunday was his second game of the season, and between Weeks 1 and 2, he has registered 150 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Adams played in all 17 games for the Raiders last season.

The Silver and Black return home to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 8:20 p.m. EDT/5:20 p.m. PDT.
