Davante Adams Wants Raiders to End Chiefs' Division Run

The Kansas City Chiefs have won the AFC West seven straight seasons. Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams wants the Raiders to end that.

The Las Vegas Raiders will face an AFC West opponent in three of the next four weeks, with two of those games being against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Raiders will be facing one of the best defenses in the National Football League for the third consecutive week.

Raiders All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams naturally watches film weekly on his opponents, but this week, he also had the chance to watch the Chiefs from a different point of view.

“Well, when I watch on TV, I just watch the game," Adams said. "Sometimes, I pay more attention than other times. But if it's an opponent that I'm going to play, I'm going to watch the tape, and I'm going to really dive into that.

"So, I typically like to watch like a fan. Often, I catch myself watching like an opponent; sometimes, there will be a couple of replays. But for the most part, just try to enjoy it.

"My family doesn't like when I sit there and rewind the tape. Even my wife was watching me watch tape, and she would sit there and try to watch it, but I'm replaying the play 15 times before it even starts, so I try to just watch it and enjoy it as much as I can.”

Adams, who averaged nearly 100 yards receiving in the Raiders' two games against Kansas City last season, has a mutual respect for the Chiefs.

“It’s the same team that they've been," Adams said. "I mean that from a respectful standpoint. They got a lot of weapons, a lot of guys on both sides of the ball that are impact players and we got to make sure we come and wear our hard hat playing against a team like that. They are the champs for a reason."

Kansas City has won the AFC West the last seven seasons, and Adams wants the Raiders to be the team to end Kansas City's run.

"We've got to do what we've got to do to stop that [Chiefs seven-year division win streak]," Adams said. "But we've just got to put our best foot forward and go out there and do what we got to do.

"And we know what it takes; it's just about executing. It's a lot easier said than done, but we got a good plan right now. We just got to find a good way to nail that down throughout the week and come in on Sunday ready.”

The Raiders play four of their next six games at home. They are 4-1 at home this season and hope to continue their winning ways at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday against the Chiefs.

The Silver and Black will return home this week to celebrate Thanksgiving and take on their AFC West rival, the Kansas City Chiefs, on Sunday, November 26, at 4:25 p.m. EST/1:25 p.m. PST.
