Raiders Bring Aboard Keith Heyward to Coaching Staff
The Las Vegas Raiders have added another to their coaching staff this offseason.
According to the list of coaches on the Raiders' official website, the club has named Keith Heyward, former defensive coordinator of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, its defensive quality control coach.
Heyward became the Rebels' defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach in March 2022. He came to UNLV from the University of California at Berkeley, where he served as outside linebackers coach for the 2021 season.
Before that stint, Heyward was with Oregon for four seasons, acting as assistant head coach (2019, 2020), co-defensive coordinator (2020, 2019, 2018), and safeties coach (all four seasons). After winning the conference title, the Ducks won the Rose Bowl in the 2019 season.
Before Oregon, Heyward spent one season with Louisville as its defensive backs coach. He held the same position with three different programs prior, starting with his alma mater, Oregon State (2008-2011), Washington (2012-2013), and USC (2014-2015), where he also served as the passing game coordinator.
Heyward also coached linebackers for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for the 2007 season and was a graduate assistant for Oregon State during the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
After playing cornerback at Oregon State from 1997 to 2000, Heyward played professionally in the Canadian Football League, the NFL Europe, and the Arena League.
